The Alternative Commission on Social Investment is an initiative set-up to investigate what’s wrong with the UK social investment market and to make practical suggestions for how the market can be made more accessible and relevant to a wider range of charities, social enterprises and citizens working to bring about positive social change.

The work of the Commission culminated in a report – published in March 2015 – which provided an evidence-led starting point for the thinking, hacking and prototyping that took place at Social Invest Fest! in April 2015 – two days of intensive collaboration focussed on designing and developing tangible and actionable solutions to make social investment more relevant and accessible to social enterprises and charities.

Flip Finance was founded off the back of the Alternative Commission on Social Investment and the outputs of Social Invest Fest!. You can read the conclusions and recommendations of the Commission below.
